Privacy Policy

Our privacy promise: Check'd is designed to work without an account, advertising, or behavioral tracking. Moment and Check data and verification images are stored locally. If you use the companion Apple Watch app, the information needed for that feature is also stored on your paired Watch, as explained below.

This policy covers Check’d, including the optional Apple Watch, location reminder, Siri, widget and Live Activity features in version 1.0.6.

1. Who is responsible for Check'd?

Check'd is provided by the independent developer of the Check'd app (“Check'd”, “we”, “us”). Questions about this policy can be sent to support@getcheckd.online.

2. Information handled by the app

Routine information

The app stores Moment and Check names, schedules, check states, confirmation timestamps, skip and undo actions, reminder settings, reset preferences, and history entries. This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Verification photos and custom images

If you choose Photo Proof or a custom image, the image is saved in the app's private storage on your device. It is not uploaded to a Check'd server.

Optional location reminders

If you enable Leaving Home Alerts or a location reminder for a Moment, iOS provides location-related events for the region you select. In version 1.0.6, you can choose arrival or departure and limit a Moment reminder by weekdays and an optional time window. The selected location name, coordinates and reminder configuration are stored locally.

Searching for places and displaying maps uses Apple Maps, so search and map requests are handled by Apple’s services. Check’d does not continuously record your route or upload location coordinates to a Check’d server. Location permission is optional and can be changed in system settings. Reminder delivery depends on iOS permissions, region monitoring and system conditions.

Notifications

If you enable reminders or Leaving Home Alerts, the app uses Apple’s local notification system to show notifications on your device. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.

Apple Watch, widgets and complications

If you use the companion Apple Watch app in version 1.0.6, Check’d transfers the Moment and Check information needed to show your schedule, progress and confirmation times between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity services. Pending Watch actions may be stored locally until they can be synchronized. Photo attachments and location coordinates are not included in this Watch transfer. App Groups allow the app and its widgets or complications to share the data needed for their display on the same device. This information is not sent to a Check’d server.

Siri and Shortcuts

If you use Siri or Shortcuts in version 1.0.6, Apple’s system services handle the interaction. Check’d performs the selected action after any required device authentication. The selected Moment or Check and confirmation result are used to carry out your request. Apple’s processing of Siri interactions is governed by your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy practices.

Live Activities and visible information

If you explicitly start live progress in version 1.0.6, the Moment name and progress may appear on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island according to system privacy settings. Photos, addresses and individual Check details are not included in the Live Activity. A name you enter yourself may still contain personal information. You can stop live progress in the app and control system display permissions in Settings. Widgets, complications and notifications may also show app information on your device; choose their placement and preview settings accordingly.

Review requests

Local completion counters and request dates help choose a quiet time for Apple’s native review prompt. These counters are not sent to us and do not depend on your opinion or purchase status. Apple controls whether the prompt appears.

Purchases

Check'd+ purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment details. Apple may provide the app with purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock Check'd+.

Support messages

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message. We use it only to respond to your request and retain it only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, or legal obligations.

3. What we do not do

We do not require a Check'd account.
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use personal information for targeted advertising.
We do not include third-party advertising.
We do not upload routine data or verification photos to a Check'd server.
We do not use iCloud Sync in the current release.

4. Legal reasons for processing

Most app data remains on your device and is processed there at your request to provide app functionality. Where you contact us, we process your message to respond to your request. Optional permissions, such as notifications and location, are controlled by you through iOS and can be withdrawn at any time.

5. Storage and retention

Moment and Check data, pending actions and images remain on the devices where they are stored until you delete them, clear history, remove the app, or erase the device, subject to iOS and watchOS behavior and any device backups managed by you. Removing the iPhone app does not by itself guarantee removal of data already stored on a paired Watch or in a backup; manage those copies separately. Reconnect your paired devices when synchronizing edits or deletions. Support emails are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request and meet applicable obligations.

6. Sharing and service providers

Check'd does not send routine data or verification photos to us or to advertising providers. Apple processes App Store purchases and provides the operating-system services used for permissions, local notifications, StoreKit, Maps, WatchConnectivity, Siri, Shortcuts and Live Activities. Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

7. Your choices and rights

You can manage notification, camera, photo, and location permissions in iOS Settings. You can edit or delete routines, remove verification images, clear history, and uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information we hold, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or complaint to a data-protection authority. Because routine data stays on your device and is not accessible to us, these requests generally apply only to information you sent us directly, such as a support email.

8. Children

Check'd is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require an account and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a Check'd server.

9. Security

We minimize data collection and rely on iOS app sandboxing and private app storage. No method of storage is completely risk-free, so you should protect your device with a passcode and keep iOS up to date.

10. International use

The app can be used in multiple countries. Data stored locally remains under your control on the device. If you contact us, your message may be processed where our email provider operates, subject to applicable safeguards.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The current version will always be published here with an updated date.
